About Us

Bassler Equipment Co. was established in 1928 by Robert Bassler. At the time, Bob Bassler met with Mr. C.C. Miller from Manitowoc Engineering Company which led to an arrangement to have Mr. Bassler find customers for C. C. Miller, and Bassler Equipment became one of the first four distributors for Manitowoc.

Milt Millington started work at Bassler Equipment in June of 1948. Milt learned the business from the ground up, gaining the trust of the customers in our area and understanding the special needs of the coal business. When Mr. Bassler died in 1965, Milt purchased Bassler Equipment Company with the Manitowoc distributorship.

In the late 1970’s, Milt’s sons joined the business as saw an opportunity to expand as coal mining production declined. Bassler Equipment branched out into Partner Industrial saws and road construction equipment, eventually adding signs, safety supplies and other contractor’s supplies as demand grew. In 1996, Milt handed over the business to his children. Today, his son Scott, grandson Tucker and their team, continue to provide the quality customer service that has given us such a loyal customer base.

Inventory has increased in volume and variety growing into a major supplier to businesses in the northeast Pennsylvania region. In addition, we continue to provide Manitowoc parts and service. Bassler Equipment is also a PennDOT approved manufacturer of signs, specializing in both standard and custom designs.
